News of 2010
February 2010: Many congratulations to our new friends Chris and Kara Yost, who now own our colt Seren Hanos (Hanson/Silihah 2009). Chris and Kara plan to compete in the Tevis Cup with him and to stand him at stud in Idaho, USA.
Hanos has arrived safe and well. An old mountain rescue saying: "if it's possible, it's inevitable," so we prepared him for the possibilities of delay and diversion, along with Perdu and Spirit. The first flight date was 6th January, impossible as the whole of the UK was snowbound. Next 3rd February from Prestwick, delayed to 17th. That flight was cancelled, so he was diverted to Amsterdam. As he arrived in Dover, the other horses in the share pulled out, and he was held there for 8 days. Eventually, 9 days after leaving us, he flew back over the roof outbound for Los Angeles. He arrived at his new home at 0530 local time three days after that, and 7 hours later we had photos of him exploring and showing that he can cope with new situations.
January 2010: An excited call this evening from Rebecca Kinnarney: she has just found out that she and Seren Capella have won the 2009 trophy for the Open Level High Point Score of the Cromwell Endurance Group (Hertfordshire, Middlesex, London, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire). This in addition to their Gold Medal won barefoot at the 2009 Golden Horseshoe makes it a fantastic season for them. We are so pleased and proud for them.
Review of 2009
2009 will go down as a year of high highs and profound lows.
We began in January with the unexpected chance for Winged Saint to join us. We heard on Thursday, and by Sunday we had concluded the transaction. There then followed a succession of freezeups, with either Devon or Cumbria completely ice bound for weeks. Finally we grabbed him in March.
